Don’t you think this is an interesting question? It’s certainly a great place for me to start my blog! Administration is so broad and varied yet so specific and simple in its nature and definition (below). It can be entry level, simple and basic yet can be so advanced and in my view a key to any successful business. Without it – how would a business survive?
In my personal view, administration is the act of doing a variety of things, which has no bounds and are necessary to enable the business to progress and other personnel in the company to focus on their primary duties.
It might be an interesting view to have in comparison to the definition below but having this view has enabled me to enjoy a broad range of tasks and challenges over the years. It’s this mindset that has allowed me to be open to grow my knowledge, experience and skills.
I have also had some amazing working relationships with some beautiful people who had a massive respect for the support of administration. On the flip side, I’ve also worked with and felt the disregard people have had for administration. Those people have been there to provide me an opportunity to grow and if nothing else remind myself that I need to be respectful of others and whatever role they have and that it doesn’t add value to my life to judge others.
The actual definition of administration according to a Google search is;

Without administration where would we be? It would seem that it’s pivotal in the success of a business. Anyone can do it – but in my experience it takes someone passionate, skilled and motivated to consistently help and learn.
I’ve established ‘The Art of Admin’ to help support people entering into Administration roles or for people who are already performing Administration duties, you could be in a small company or a large corporation. Administration has no boundaries in regards to age, race, gender, qualifications or experience and I’m here to share with you all the key things that I learnt over my 15 years in various administration roles to enrich your experience in administration and provide you a resource that I only wish I had access to when I was first starting out. Most of all I just want to help make your job easier! – Now who doesn’t want that?
